I am pretty sure many people lose their every breath whenever they see kids holding color pencils or markers around the house. Why? Well, because most of us are scared of our walls getting dirty – come on, as much as you pretend that this isn’t your worst nightmare, I know how deep-rooted this fear of yours is.
With that being said, today we are going to talk about this fear and how this is all your kid needs to be bright, creative, and active. As much as we want to keep our house clean, no parent would want to compromise anything when it comes to their child – and to all the good parents out there, this is your time to get your kids back to the coloring side of them. Some simple exercises will help children develop cognitively, psychologically, and creatively and coloring is one of the best you can get out there. It allows them to live healthier and happier lives during adolescence and adulthood so let’s get on and talk about their benefits.
1. Boosts Creativity:
Giving your kids a chance to color will help stimulate their creative centers. There are colors, shapes, descriptions, and fictional stories when children draw. Even if your child draws the same picture over and over, he continues to use his brain’s creative center to process colors and shapes.
2.Their motor skills get polished:
Coloring helps improve children’s sports performance. The movements, movements, and precise grips associated with painting help develop the muscles of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Developing fine motor skills not only helps children write more proficiently, but also helps them manipulate small objects. You can then hone these skills, become a better mechanic, and do better in sports and other activities.
3. Coloring can become a form of self-expression:
Everyone expresses in their own way, and many children have a visual nature. We as adults have a lot of options and ways to express ourselves but being a kid, sometimes it gets hard to voice your thoughts, opinions, and likings. Coloring is a productive form of expression because children can make color decisions and draw the borders of the coloring page, paper, or book ad sometimes, they even use coloring as a way of expressing what they like and dislike.
4. It greatly improves the coordination of hand-eye:
To color, children need to take a pencil and put it on paper at a certain position. This requires hand-eye coordination. You can see how this develops as your child grows and their hand-eye coordination develops. This doesn’t only help them create just the coordination but also, as we know coloring teaches discipline and respecting limits/borders. Even if it’s your kid who becomes a rebellious artist later on, it’s good to understand these rules and all the discipline it teaches. Coloring helps reinforce the needs and benefits of having a sense of structure and boundaries.
5. It helps to calm those little minds:
We all know that adults can soothingly dye their hair and reduce stress or go out and party all night and eventually in the morning, they feel better and calm but what happens when it comes to being kids?
Well, the same is true for children. No, I don’t mean partying and dyeing your hair. Coloring is a great way to calm kids down. they can physically express their feelings by drawing a picture or putting crayons on paper and letting the war in their minds out in a very healthy and polite way.
